Hadfield Sings Bowie: Space Oddity Gets Astronaut Treatment in Outer Space

An internet viral star from outer space. An internet viral star from outer space.

It's the first music video from space. Floating 250 miles above the Earth, Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has captivated the internet with his in-orbit version of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" sung from outer space.

Hadfield has garnered a sizable fan base during his five-month-long journey in the International Space Station, imparting gems of space knowledge to eager subscribers via Youtube. Now at the end of his travels, the astronaut-cum-singer has decided to give a special performance, singing a tune that seemed to fit his predicament just right.

A tribute that David Bowie would surely approve of, the video is peppered with enough jaw-dropping views of Earth and its surroundings to make the song just that much more poignant.
