Hot Stuff: Hip-Hop, Comedy, Bikers, & Explosions

One of the best shows on TV is a great addition to your DVD collection, too. One of the best shows on TV is a great addition to your DVD collection, too.

Check out some hot entertainment recommendations from the most recent issue of Rosebud Magazine. We've got music, movies, and more stuff we dig, and we think you might just like it, too. From punk to rap, from comedy to action - we've got you covered. Check it out.

The Campaign

Two of the funniest men alive finally join forces as Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell star in this political farce. Ferrell plays a sleazy politician campaigning in the Deep South, running against a bumpkin of a candidate played by Galifianakis. Their two worlds collide in an off-the-wall knee-slapper, with Ferrell’s mean streak, mastered in his recent role as “Old South” car dealer Ashley Schaeffer on Eastbound & Down, playing off Galifianakis’ patented naiveté to produce some primo on-screen chemistry.

The Expendables 2

In 2010, The Expendables seemed like the action movie to end all action movies, cramming just about every major star of the last 30 years onto one screen. Well, they’re back: Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews. And this time they’re joined by Jean-Claude Van Damme, UFC legend Randy Couture and the immortal Chuck Norris. If you need a plot synopsis, you’re barking up the wrong tree. Instead, get ready for 90 more minutes of muscles, guns and explosions.

Sons of Anarchy - Season 4

Pretty much the most badass TV series of the century, Sons of Anarchy’s thrilling fourth season is out on Blu-ray and DVD this summer, which means you can watch every episode back-to-back. If you’ve seen even one episode of this show, you know it’s worth making repeat visits to the fictional city of Charming, California, to hang out with the small screen’s most infamous motorcycle club. If you like to dig into pull-no-punches storytelling and gritty, compelling characters, you’re probably already looking forward to this release.

Kreayshawn - Something' 'Bout Kreay

Eyebrow-raising rapper and Internet sensation Kreayshawn drops her debut album after being the name on everyone’s lips throughout 2011 for her single “Gucci, Gucci,” which flipped the script on hip-hop conventions by attacking the materialism embraced by many mainstream rappers. Somethin ’Bout Kreay is bound to be another pot-stirring blast to pop culture. Love her or hate her, the 22-year-old is definitely one of a kind, making this record one of the most anticipated debuts in recent memory.

Green Day - ¡Uno!

America’s catchiest agitators are back this fall with the first in their new trilogy of full-length albums ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tre! — to be released in September, November and January. Green Day are easily the most enduring band to come out of the ’90s pop-punk boom, achieving superstar status and retaining it long enough to transcend any label you’d like to slap on their music. The prolific band promises to release some of its most infectious tunes yet on ¡Uno!, with singer Billie Joe Armstrong stating that the sound will land somewhere “between AC/DC and the early Beatles.” Hard to imagine what that means, but we’re stoked to find out.
