Hot Stuff: Exciting Entertainment News & Releases For Your Down Time

Black Sabbath is back (or at least three quarters of them). Black Sabbath is back (or at least three quarters of them).

Every couple of months we look at the hottest TV, film, and music releases so that you can spend your precious time in your garden rather than sifting through reviews and the detritus of the entertainment world. When you get home from the grow room, these entertainment options will help you wind down.

Dexter Morgan’s compulsive vigilantism has gotten him into plenty of trouble over seven seasons of bloody murder, but somehow he always survives to kill another day. Unless you’ve been spending way too much time in your grow room, you already know that Dexter is essential viewing, which makes adding these discs to your home library a sound move indeed.

This silver screen franchise has had its ups and downs, but it finally seemed to come to terms with itself in Fast 5, delivering possibly the best entry in the series so far. With any luck, the sixth one will pick up where the fifth left off, continuing to raise the bar as far as over-the-top action goes. Vin Diesel and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be in full effect as they stomp all over your suspension of disbelief once again. Buckle up. This one should be fun.

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn struck comedy gold with 2005’s Wedding Crashers, and the duo will reignite that comedic chemistry with The Internship. The two may not be on the cutting edge of comedy any more, but they still have the chops to deliver the goods as a pair of out-of-work salesmen battling for a Google job in a technological age that is passing them by.

Holy moly! A new Sabbath album! OK, it’s not quite the original lineup, but OzzyOsbourne, Tony Iommi, and Geezer Butler are all front and center on their first full-length studio record since 1978’s Never Say Die. Black Sabbath are one of the most be-loved, respected and influential bands of all time, and bona fide living legends to boot. Black Sabbath changed everything, and now they’re back!

Basically a who’s who of Hollywood’s hottest comedic stars – Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson… the list goes on. And there’s James Franco, too. The wisecracking celebs are all trapped in a doomsday scenario played for laughs. It’s the end of the world as we know it, and we feel like a good chuckle.
