Good news for fans of high-quality comedy: The cult TV series Arrested Development is coming back! Series creator Mitch Hurwitz made the official announcement over the weekend, and it looks like the Bluth family will finally return to the screen. The original series lasted only three seasons, but became a huge hit on DVD. Most fans and even some of the show’s stars blamed the Fox network for mishandling the show and causing the cancelation despite a strong following. Now, those people get some vindication.

Televisions have come a long way from the little box with bunny ears displaying a fuzzy black and white picture. As technology improved, the quality of the picture gradually got better and televisions became more advanced. Today there are more choices than ever – plasma, LCD, LED, HD, 3D – the list goes on and on. How do you decide which TV is right for you?

It was one of the biggest nights in show biz as both the best in television and film were honoured at the 68th Golden Globes. But in spite of big name winners like The Social Network, Glee, and stars like Natalie Portman, Colin Firth, Al Pacino, and Steve Buscemi being honoured, it was the evening's host, British comedian Ricky Gervais, who stole the show and dominated headlines after the ceremony.

In 2010, I found a ton of things to laugh at on TV thanks to old favorites and new shows alike. Some of those will be back in 2011, while others have wrapped up their run. Bored To Death, 30 Rock, The Onion, Peep Show, Community, Modern Family, and other shows on cable networks, big networks, foreign networks - we're in a golden age. Here’s my look at how 2011 will be different, for better and worse, when it comes to television comedy.

When Canadian-born actor and widely loved comedic genius Leslie Nielsen passed away this week at age 84 due to complications from pneumonia, I couldn’t help but wax a little nostalgic. What really surprised me was the overwhelming public reaction to Nielsen’s death. He seems to have been a personality who was nearly universally loved and revered. But then how could you not love Nielsen’s oblivious slapstick routine, best exemplified in his two most famous films, Airplane! and The Naked Gun?

Attention fans of great TV! One of the best and most influential television series of the ‘90s is now available in its entirety on DVD. The Larry Sanders Show: The Complete Series is on shelves now, and for longtime fans or curious newcomers, this is essential viewing. Garry Shandling’s satirical and "meta" look at show business set the bar for single-camera comedies, and is almost single-handedly responsible for much of the way we view TV these days.
The 38th annual American Music Awards took place Sunday in L.A. with big names were out in full force. Taylor Swift, Usher, Justin Bieber, Black-Eyed Peas, Pink, Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, and many more made the star-studded event the spectacle that it is renowned for. In fact, if there was any doubt, this year’s show proved it’s much more about spectacle and promotion than celebrating the year’s best artists.

She’s been on the pop culture radar for many years, but thanks to the 2010 Emmy Awards and a super successful biopic, Temple Grandin is the latest person of the hour in homes from coast to coast. The autism advocate and author is also well known for her work to improve the quality of life for food animals, particularly cattle. The HBO made-for-TV movie of her life stars Claire Danes and cleaned up at this year’s Emmys.

Almost any time slot is up for grabs by an up and coming network TV show, but Thursday night's slots have often been the exception. For nearly 30 years, NBC has dominated the Thursday night primetime block, producing hit after hit and dominating the air from 8pm until 11pm. In fact, some of the best and most successful shows in television history have been a part of that block, including The Cosby Show, Cheers, ER, Seinfeld, and The Office.

TV Guide’s recently published list of the highest paid stars on television doesn’t contain much in the way of surprises. The biggest name stars who appear in the most popular shows on the boob tube command that largest salaries. Seems pretty obvious. Charlie Sheen gets a hefty payday for his role on Two and Half Men, while Oprah Winfrey rakes it in for doing her long-running daytime show. Other top earners include Judge Judy, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Ryan Seacrest, and House’s Hugh Laurie.

Some TV and film vehicles have been like cast membersSome TV and film vehicles have been like cast membersWe’ve all seen cars in movies and TV shows and thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if I could get my hands on that!” Whether it was something completely imaginary or a vehicle you could hope to own one day, everyone recalls a hot ride from a favorite film or TV show.

Here’s a look at 10 of the most memorable cars from both the big screen and the small screen:
