In the world of pro sports, hitting 32 years of age constitutes the twilight for the majority of athletes. Most competitors peak in their mid to late twenties, with only a few maintaining a high level of performance into their thirties. However, some athletes defy the calendar and continue to make an impact well into a time in their lives when most people consider them “over the hill.”
For those incredible athletes whose determination, skill, and genetic gifts allow them to compete at the top level into their late thirties and even into their forties, age is merely a state of mind. It’s common to hear sports commentators calling it a shame when a brawl breaks out on the court or field during play. But around the water cooler, the guys talk excitedly about the previous night’s melee. We all appreciate sportsmanship and skill, but we crave passion, tension, and rivalry as well. Sometimes that spills over into tragedy, and other times it amounts to little more than overgrown boys blowing off some steam.
Of course, hockey is most famous for its brawls, some of them have reached absolutely epic proportions. But baseball has had its fair share, and even basketball and football are not immune. And how about a brawl in a one-on-one sport? We have one on the Rosebud list.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of sports’ most memorable dust ups. Buckle up. It's a wild ride.

Creating a list of the Top 10 animal-themed horror films is a challenge because so many of the most enjoyable films in this genre are awful. However, the Rosebud list makes a good faith attempt to find movies that are actually good, and not “so-bad-they’re-good.” With all the hoopla surrounding this summer’s Piranha 3-D, the animal horror, or eco-horror, genre could be in for a rebirth. It will probably never reach the proportions of the ‘70s, when these films were churned out en masse, but you never know what the public will clamor for next. From the ferocious to the friendly, common to the obscure, all the murderous critters you can imagine are here.
